Introduction

Level Designer required full-time for Toronto video game studio.

Position

We're looking for a Level Designer to collaborate with us in the delivery of a first-person action adventure video game.

Responsibilities 

• Work with our Senior Level Designer to design and create gameplay spaces & environments 
• Take gameplay environments from white box to final
• Collaborate with the team to iterate on existing gameplay spaces to leverage game mechanics via feedback
• Design AI Encounters & Environmental puzzles
• Assess level content with the Design Team
• Participate in R&D, problem solving gameplay solutions/technical limitations by spatial design.
• Collaborate with programmers, designers and artists to discuss and understand game intentions and vision and provide feedback.
• Optimize and debug level & gameplay objects

Required Skills

• Minimum 1+ years’ experience in Level Design or Game Design fields;
• Basic Scripting (UE4 Blueprinting) knowledge or experience;
• Basic Understanding of 3D Modelling Software (3DSMax, Maya, Blender)
• Understanding of how gameplay elements affect and influence level design;
• Motivated self starter who can execute with limited supervision;
• Basic understanding of environmental storytelling;
• Knowledge of optimization techniques;
• Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4
